In the XVIII century the monks invented in the forests of Prussia, this small and handy, portable sundial, which indicates the time corresponding to the height of the sun.

The sliding ring rotate until the hole indicates the current month.
The side of the clock with the small hole hanging in the sun direction. A sharp point of light appears on the time scale inside the ring and shows the LAT (Local time) that morning left that afternoon right.
